Who we are
Ash Fuel is operated by Chanoy Smith, a sole proprietor ("we", "us"). Chanoy Smith is the data controller for personal information processed through the Ash Fuel app and website.
What we collect and why
- Account information (email, first name, password handled by our sign-in provider, optional profile photo) — to create and secure your account. Basis: contract.
- Wellness details you enter (age, height, goals, activity level, food and dietary preferences, skin and self-care preferences, mood) — to personalise tracking and suggestions. Basis: contract and your consent.
- Meal, water and weight logs — to show your diary, progress and weekly summaries. Basis: contract and your consent.
- Food photos — sent to our AI provider only to generate a nutrition estimate. We save the resulting food entries, not the photo itself. Basis: contract and your consent.
- Coach messages — processed by our AI provider to generate replies. Basis: contract.
- Notification settings and device tokens — to send the reminders you turn on. Basis: consent (you can switch them off anytime).
- Usage and technical data (usage counts for plan limits, basic logs, IP address, device/browser type) — to run the service, enforce plan limits, prevent fraud and fix problems. Basis: legitimate interests.
- Subscription status (plan, status, renewal dates) — to unlock paid features. Payment card details are collected by Paddle, not by us. Basis: contract.
- Support messages and emails — to answer you and send account/receipt emails. Basis: contract.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who host our app and database, provide AI analysis, deliver email, and deliver push notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging), acting on our instructions.
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for selling subscriptions, payments, subscription management, tax compliance and invoicing. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account (Settings → Account deletion) your profile and logs are deleted. Limited records may be kept longer where needed for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons, then deleted or anonymised.
Security
We use encryption in transit, per-account access controls in our database, and keep secret keys on the server only. No system is perfectly secure, but we take appropriate technical and organisational measures.
Cookies and local storage
We use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in and remember app preferences such as reminders. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Paddle's checkout may set its own cookies needed to process payments.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Most data can be edited or deleted directly in the app; for anything else, email us and we will respond within one month.
Not medical care
Ash Fuel is a wellness tool and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
